ARMC Opens Roosevelt Community Clinic
10/17/2011
Vernal, Utah – Ashley Regional Medical Center officially opened the Roosevelt Community Clinic with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 15, 2011. The clinic, located off Highway 40 at 200 East is divided into two sections featuring services for walk-ins as well as those who have appointments.
“The new community clinic will cater to working moms and dads with extended hours and walk-in service,” Ashley Regional CEO Si Hutt said. For walk-ins the clinic has three exam rooms on either side with a shared nurse’s station in the center. The building also has enough space for specialists to work in the facility as well, which is planned for the future. The clinic will offer a full range of services including annual exams and physicals to allergies and asthma. Women’s health, including obstetrics, is also featured, plus minor emergencies and walk-in service.
The Roosevelt Community Clinic is staffed by Dr. Melanie Hardy, family practice and obstetrics physician and PA Sarah Heaton. Dr. Hardy is a graduate of Brigham Young University and the Des Moines University and recently completed her residency training at Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sarah Heaton has spent the last several years working in Utah and after receiving her PA degree in Pennsylvania.
The clinic is equipped with a modern x-ray machine that captures images digitally. The computer files are then read by radiologist, Dr. David Perry for a fast turn around. “We are in tune with what the employers need and we are set to offer these services in a timely manner with all the paperwork complete,” Hutt said. A hospital-grade ultrasound is also located at the clinic that Dr. Perry will also attend to the diagnosis. The new machine also takes 4-D pictures which show great detail.
The facility also features a full line of occupational services that include vision and mask-fit checks and drug services. These services are also offered in Price, Emery, Vernal and now Roosevelt. “We want people to come knowing that they still can choose whatever hospital services they desire,” Hutt said. “We want to meet the needs of the patient and ultimately going to either hospital is their choice, “but that the choice for clinical and other services in Roosevelt is now broadened.”
The clinic is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and has extended hours on Tuesday and Thursday until 8:00 p.m. The clinic is also open on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
