First Baby Born in Women's Center

Ashley Regional Opens Women’s Center
Vernal, Utah (May 29, 3018) – Ashley Regional Medical Center is happy to announce the Opening of their new Women’s Center to patients. The final preparations were completed on May 21, 2018, and deliveries began on May 22, 2018.
The first baby born in the new facility was Jack Batty, baby boy, parents are Ashley and Steven Batty of Vernal. Jack made his entrance on May 22, 2018 at 8:15 PM, he was 8 lbs 0.4 oz and 21 inches long.
The OB Director, Megan Smith, presented the Batty family ,which also includes big brother Miles, with some special gifts donated by the staff in the OB department.
“We are so excited to be in our new area,” stated Megan Smith, Director of Women’s Services at Ashley Regional. “We have been anticipating this event for over a year and it is amazing to be in the new Women’s Center.”
The new OB Department now contains 5 LDRP rooms (Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Post Partum), and 5 Post Partum rooms. There is a dedicated C-section room where all C-sections will be performed. The area has been beautifully decorated to provide an atmosphere of rest for mothers and their newborns.
The newborns may now remain the LDRP rooms with their mothers, or the mother may request that the newborn be cared for in the new 8-bed nursery. A 5-bed Level II NICU is also available for babies 32 weeks and above.
