Ashley Regional Medical Center Welcomes New Family Nurse Practitioners to Growing Care Team
June 29, 2026
Vernal, Utah (June 29, 2026) – Ashley Regional Medical Center is pleased to formally welcome two family nurse practitioners to its care team. Both providers have been serving patients locally, and Ashley Regional is proud to recognize the experience and quality care they bring to the community.
Ashley Regional Medical Center remains committed to expanding access to comprehensive, high-quality care close to home.
Wendy Dunn, FNP-C, provides care across multiple service areas at Ashley Regional Medical Center, including Family Medicine, Wound Care, and the Workpoint Clinic. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner focus from Western Governors University and brings more than a decade of nursing experience to her role. Wendy specializes in family practice, DOT physicals, and specialty wound care, delivering compassionate, thorough care tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
Deeply rooted in the community, Wendy values building long-term relationships with her patients and their families. She has been married for 17 years to her husband, a U.S. Army veteran and current police officer, and together they are raising three children. Outside of work, she enjoys camping, reading, and spending quality time with her family. Wendy is also passionate about giving back through volunteer work at community events, where she enjoys connecting with and serving the people who call the Uintah Basin home.
Craig Nielsen, FNP, has also recently joined the Ashley Regional Medical Center care team. Born and raised in the Uintah Basin, Craig is proud to serve the community he calls home. A devoted husband and father, he brings the values of family, hard work, and integrity into every aspect of his practice.
Craig’s professional background includes experience in the Intensive Care Unit at LDS Hospital and in correctional healthcare at the Davis County Jail. These roles reinforced the importance of providing respectful, nonjudgmental care while understanding the meaningful impact healthcare decisions have on patients and their families.
Outside of medicine, Craig enjoys many of the same activities as the patients he serves, including horse riding and team roping, camping, fishing, hunting, and dirt biking. His previous work in the oilfield and as a water truck driver allows him to connect with patients from a wide range of backgrounds, particularly those in physically demanding and rural occupations.
Craig is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care grounded in listening, trust, and respect. He provides services in Ashley Regional’s Workpoint Clinic for occupational health needs and serves as a provider in the Primary Care Walk-in Clinic, offering timely care for minor injuries and illnesses when a patient’s regular primary care provider is unavailable.
“Welcoming Wendy and Craig to our care team allows us to continue expanding access to essential services for our community,” said Alan Olive, CEO of Ashley Regional Medical Center. “Their experience, dedication, and connection to the Uintah Basin strengthen our ability to provide accessible, high-quality care close to home.”
Appointments may be scheduled online at AshleyRegionalPhysicians.com or by contacting the clinics listed below.
