Ashley Regional Welcomes New General Surgeon, Expanding Access to Care

VERNAL, Utah (August 20, 2026) – Ashley Regional Medical Center is pleased to welcome Don Messick, MD, to its medical staff as a general surgeon, expanding access to high-quality surgical care for patients throughout the Uintah Basin. Dr. Messick's addition strengthens the hospital's ability to provide specialized surgical services close to home, reducing the need for patients to travel outside the area for care.
Dr. Messick brings advanced training and experience in general surgery, including training at a robotic and hernia center of excellence. He completed his surgical residency at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, Michigan, earned his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine, and received his undergraduate education from Brigham Young University.
