Ashley Regional Medical Center Names 2025 Mercy Award Winner
May 8, 2025
Vernal, Utah (May 8, 2025) – Ashley Regional Medical Center recently announced that Troy Ashby, Assistant Material Manager, has been recognized as the facility’s 2025 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s facilities who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.
Established in 2001, the Mercy Award is an annual recognition program that honors the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.
“At Ashley Regional, our caring and compassionate team members are at the heart of advancing our mission of making communities healthier – and Troy Ashby is a shining example of this day in and day out,” said Alan Olive, CEO of Ashley Regional Medical Center. “We are so proud to recognize his many contributions to caring for patients, supporting our hospital, and serving our community. I’m grateful for Troy’s positive influence and the example he sets for all of us.”
Troy has worked at Ashley Regional for 35 years. He is consistently going above and beyond, showing he cares about the people he works with at the facility. Troy takes pride in making sure departments have what they need in a timely manner and goes out of his way to do the “extra” things too. One story told was when the microwave in the lab went out one night. By 8 a.m. Troy had replaced the microwave for the team.
A shining example of our core values, Troy’s positivity, kindness and thoughtful actions make everyone’s day brighter. He is a team player who helps do things outside of his core job duties -- setting up and tearing down at events, putting small treats on staff members’ desks to brighten their day, remembering people’s birthdays and so much more. Troy is an overall amazing person that spreads joy everywhere he goes, helping support staff so they can support patients.
Each facility winner, including Troy, will be considered for Lifepoint’s 2025 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in August.
