Ken Bassett Selected to Serve on Ashley Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees
September 23, 2020
Vernal, Utah (September 23, 2020) – Ashley Regional Medical Center announced today that Ken Bassett has been selected to serve on the hospital’s Board of Trustees.
“We are so excited to welcome Ken to our Board and know that he will do an outstanding job,” said Wes Taylor, chief executive officer (CEO) of Ashley Regional Medical Center. “His longstanding leadership and deep knowledge of the unique needs of our community will be a great asset to our leadership team, employees, and medical staff as we work to make our communities healthier.”
Ken has consistently been an active leader in the community, serving on a number of boards and committees, including Utah City Manager Association, Boy Scouts of America, and the Vernal Chamber of Commerce. In 2017, after nearly 40 years working at Vernal City, Ken retired from his position as City Manager. At that time he and his wife left to serve a mission in Turkey. The mission was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic, bringing them home to Vernal roughly five months early.
“It is so important to have strong community hospitals,” said Ken, “and I am truly honored to serve on Ashley Regional Medical Center’s Board. I look forward to working with the other board members and hospital leadership team to help our hospital continue to explore ways to expand access to quality care close to home.”
Ken assumed his role on September 22, 2020. Ashley Regional Medical Center’s Board of Trustees meets monthly and is charged with oversight of the hospital’s role in making our community healthier. To learn more, visit AshleyRegional.com.
