Ashley Regional Medical Center Opens New Women’s Center
First phase of $35M hospital expansion and renovation project completed
Vernal, Utah (May 9, 2018) – Ashley Regional Medical Center (ARMC) today announced the opening of its new Women’s Center, which will begin seeing patients immediately. This important milestone marks the completion of the first phase of a $35 million expansion and renovation project currently underway at the hospital.
“Our state-of-the-art Women’s Center will further enhance the care and services we provide in our community and keep high quality healthcare close to home for those we serve,” said Benjamin Cluff, chief executive officer of ARMC. “It is very exciting to see this Center come to fruition after much planning and hard work, and we are deeply grateful to LifePoint Health for its $35 million investment in this project and ongoing commitment to our community.”
The Women’s Center occupies the first and second floors of a new 45,500-square-foot, three-story tower on the hospital’s campus. The offices of OB/GYN providers Dr. John Griffith and Dr. Karen Fleenor are located on the first floor, as well as 4D ultrasound, new 3D mammography and bone density screening services. The second floor houses the new obstetrics unit, complete with five new labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum (LDRP) rooms; a four-bed neonatal intensive care unit (NICU); and an eight-bed nursery. Additionally, the facility features five other post-partum rooms, as well as a dedicated caesarean section (C-section) room to provide privacy for mothers and their newborns. All rooms are beautifully decorated and equipped with the latest medical technology. The building’s third floor is shell space that will be utilized as necessary in the future.
“LifePoint’s mission is Making Communities Healthier, and today we are pleased to see our mission come to life in such a meaningful way with the opening of this beautiful new facility,” said David Dill, president and chief operating officer of LifePoint Health, of which ARMC is a part. “We are proud to support this important project that will help elevate the level of service and quality of care available to the Vernal community and surrounding areas for years to come.”
The Women’s Center has been a primary focal point of the major expansion and renovation project at ARMC that began in 2016. Other aspects of the project include a brand new, state-of-the-art intensive care unit (ICU), as well as a fully renovated medical-surgical unit and additional medical office space for physicians. The hospital’s physical therapy and infusion therapy units will receive new space and upgrades, while lab services, the pharmacy and pre-operation areas will receive significant renovations. The hospital will also feature all-private patient beds, and visitors will benefit from a significant increase in parking availability once the entire project is completed later this year.
