July 26, 2022
(Vernal, Utah – July 26, 2022) – Ashley Regional Medical Center (ARMC) announced today that Grant Barraclough has been named Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of ARMC, effective July 25. Barraclough joins ARMC from Wythe County Community Hospital, where he served as CNO.
“We are so excited to have Barraclough step into this important leadership role,” said Wes Taylor, chief executive officer (CEO) of Ashley Regional. “He is an exemplary leader with a tremendous amount of clinical experience and expertise. His commitment to patient care, physicians, employees and the community is evident in all that he does, and I know that he will help us further advance our mission of Making Communities Healthier.”
As CNO of Wythe County Community Hospital, Barraclough oversaw daily operations of a 100-bed facility, supported the hospital’s quality program that is aimed to increase patient safety and was able to help the team continue to drive down the hospital’s overall goal of preventable harms even through a pandemic.
“Grant is a great fit for our hospital,” said Allen Parker, chair of ARMC’s board of trustees. “We have been so impressed with his experience and knowledge, as well as his genuine care for people. We are really looking forward to working with him to lead the hospital forward.”
Barraclough has spent most of his nursing career in Utah and looks forward to returning to the state. Prior to his role at Wythe County Community Hospital, he worked for several years at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, one year at Dixie Regional Hospital in St. George, and most recently worked at Castleview Hospital in Price where he was a nurse in numerous departments and promoted to CNO. His time there spanned over almost 19 years.
“Ashley Regional Medical Center is such an important part of this community,” said Barraclough, “and I am really excited to take on this new role and join this incredible team of individuals. I look forward to building on the strong foundation that already exists and helping the leadership team look for even more ways to improve the overall health and well-being of this community.”
Barraclough holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and a Master’s of Science in Nursing Administration from Western Governor’s University.
